All my life I have been busy with some form of needlework, since my earliest days as an avid embroiderer and crocheter in the mid-60's. My mother and I knitted and crocheted together, often holding "speed" contests and ending up in fits of laughter, mostly just making a mess. She always told me that Tatting was the hardest of all to learn, because she never was able to learn it from her Grandmother. In 1995, right after the death of my Great-Grandmother, I noticed a tatting class being offered at a local adult education center. I took it as a sign from heaven, and was instantly hooked, or should I say, "flipped"?
I owned a yarn shop from 2001 to 2007 in Mobile Alabama. After going back to office work (??!!), I still longed to be around yarn. So, I became a travelling sales rep! |
