First, place your Giant Skein on a large swift (accomodates 100" skeins and available in regular or large size from Glimakrausa.com), or hang it between two chairs. Make sure the 12 individual skeins are arranged flatly and smoothly, with the small knots at the top (6 of them, 2 are white string and the others are yarn). Cut all 6 of the small knots, but do not cut the large knots (YET!).
Locate the big knots, one inner and one outer. These are the beginnings and ends of the 12 individual skeins.
Starting with your top skein, cut the beginning strand off of the outer big knot for the top skein, and begin winding to a ball winder or by hand. (NOTE: When winding by hand, just keep track of the starting tail, and you will have a center-pull ball). When the ball is complete, cut the corresponding end from the inner big knot.
Continue in this manner, winding each of the 12 skeins into balls, and if done in order from top to bottom, they should be no problem at all!
